Four-Laning of Kadapa–Kurnool Section, NH-40

The four-laning of the Kadapa to Kurnool section on old NH-18, now designated as NH-40, is a major highway upgrade in the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh. The project spans approximately 188.75 km, from Km 167.750 to Km 356.502, and is implemented on a BOT (Toll) basis under NHDP Phase-III, overseen by NHAI’s Project Implementation Unit (PIU), Kurnool.

The corridor connects Kadapa and Kurnool, two important district headquarters, and carries significant passenger and freight traffic across the region. Design for the project is led by L.N. Malviya Infra Projects Pvt. Ltd. in association with Highway Engineering Consultant.

  • Upgrades a key arterial route in Rayalaseema from two lanes to four, improving safety and travel times.

  • Strengthens road connectivity between Kadapa, Kurnool, and the wider national highway network.

  • Supports regional trade, agriculture, and mineral-based industries dependent on this corridor.

  • Reduces congestion and accident risk on a heavily trafficked stretch of NH-40.

Ameenji Rubber Limited has been entrusted with the design, manufacturing, in-house testing, and supply of critical bridge components for the minor and major bridges along the corridor, including:

  • Expansion Joints
  • Bridge Bearings

Across a 188.75 km highway alignment, these components must perform reliably at every bridge structure, accommodating thermal movement, traffic loads, and long-term wear. Ameenji’s joints and bearings were engineered to meet the project’s complex design criteria and stringent technical specifications, protecting deck structures and ensuring smooth, durable riding surfaces throughout the corridor.

Why Ameenji Was Chosen

  • Proven Performance: An established track record across Indian highway, railway, and metro bridge projects, with consistent on-time delivery and quality compliance.
